This striking Moroccan Amethyst Geode is a fine specimen, with many interesting details. Amethyst is called the "stone of spirituality and contentment", and opens up the spiritual or psychic center of the mind and enhances intuition. It is known as a power crystal. Amethyst's healing powers can be characterized as purifying, pacifying and transitional.

           Geodes are sphere or earth shaped rocks, which contain a hollow cavity lined with crystals. The term geode is derived from the Greek word meaning "earthlike". Geodes are found throughout the world, but the most concentrated areas are located in the deserts. Volcanic ash beds, or regions containing limestone, are also common geode locations.
